Zoom leverages AssemblyAI to help advance its AI research and development

AssemblyAI's industry-leading Speech AI models were selected to help advance Zoom’s research and development efforts around speech-to-text by using these models to refine data used to train Zoom’s AI Companion, strengthening Zoom’s ability to deliver high-performance AI features.

Today, we're announcing that Zoom is leveraging AssemblyAI's speech-to-text and speech understanding models as one of the components of their research and development efforts for Zoom AI Companion.

Zoom AI Companion empowers users to get more work done and strengthen relationships with customers and colleagues with its capabilities across Zoom Workplace. By utilizing AssemblyAI's speech AI techniques, Zoom will be able to leverage industry-leading accuracy for meeting transcription research and development, including:

• AssemblyAI's high accuracy in rare words like product names, people names, and other proper nouns, as well as uniquely formatted phrases, to enhance Zoom’s own model capabilities in recognizing those words for better transcription quality.
